Finland has been named the happiest country in the world for the third year in a row on Friday, according to the United Nations' latest World Happiness Report, Finland is followed by Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland and Norway.
Countries are ranked on six variables that support well-being: income, freedom, trust, healthy life expectancy, social support and generosity. The rankings of the world's happiest countries came from an analysis of data from surveys in 156 countries, including the Gallup World Poll.
Finland is a Northern European nation bordering Sweden, Norway and Russia. Its capital, Helsinki, occupies a peninsula and surrounding islands in the Baltic Sea. Helsinki is home to the 18th-century sea fortress Suomenlinna, the fashionable Design District and diverse museums
